Abstract
Forensic engineering needs to play a much larger part in the education of civil engineers if they are to adopt a culture of learning from failure. Toby Mottram of the University of Warwick reports on the findings of a recent themed issue of the Institution of Civil Engineers' journal Forensic Engineering.
