Abstract
Data from a variety of sources indicate that migrant students are underidentified and underserved in special education programs. One major obstacle in providing special education services to migrant students and their families is the shortage of qualified personnel to work with these students. The purpose of this article is to describe the Migrant Special Education Training Program (MSETP) at SUNY/The College at New Paltz. The MSETP is a specially designed master's-level teacher-training program to prepare special educators to work with migrant students and their families.
