Abstract
Knowledge about what does and does not work in any given classroom situation requires reflecting on a multitude of factors, including the content we need to teach, the methods we use, and the characteristics of our students. Experienced teachers know a lot about what mathematics to teach and how to orchestrate their instruction in ways that promote achievement in their students.
