Abstract

The addition of [5- 14 C]glutamate and [ 14 C]formate to a non-proprietary medium containing [ 14 C]glucose, Trypticase, yeast extract, thiotone, and salts enabled the radiometric detection of the presence of nonfermenters of glucose. It did not interfere with the rapid detection of the presence of aerobic and anaerobic sporeforemers and nonsporeformers.
