Abstract

Abstract A survey is given on lattice data, structures and certain properties of quaternary compounds of the type Cu2MeIIMeIVMe4 VI with MeII = Mn, Fe, Co, Zn, Cd, Hg; MeIV = Si, Ge, Sn; MeVI = S, Sc. Except for the selenides containing cobalt all compounds could be synthesized. They crystallize in acentric superstructures of blende or wurtzite respectively In crystals of Cu2MnSiS4, second harmonic generation was detected.
