Abstract

An interesting Au(i)–Cys complex was employed for the optical detection of Ca²⁺based on an aggregation-induced emission phenomenon. This AIE property of Au(i)–thiol complexes may provide a universal sensing strategy by employing different mercapto-appended ligands.
