Abstract

A new family of semiconducting heterostructured transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) with incommensurate (“misfit”) spatial arrangements has been prepared from structurally dissimilar 2H-MoS₂ and 1T-HfS₂ upon mechanical processing and annealing.
