Abstract

AbstractHerein, we have developed a novel copper‐catalyzed intermolecular alkyl formylation reaction of arene sulfonamides. This method represents a significant advancement in the field, as it does not require the use of any exogenous acid, base, or oxidant, and the reaction can be completed within two hours. A variety of N,N‐alkyl formylated sulfonamides were synthesized in moderate to good yields. Hitherto, no reports have been found in the literature for the N‐formylation of sulfonamides, making this reaction an important breakthrough in synthetic organic chemistry.
