1. In July 1991, virgin PET resin was selling for 67¢/lb, recycled PET was 387¢/lb and unprocessed PET bottles were 8¢/lb. Earlier in 1991 at the hieght of the Persian Gulf War, virgin PET resin was selling for 80¢/lb, recycled PET was 48¢/lb (Chem. Eng. News, July 8, 1991).
