Abstract
AbstractThe jointing problem has become increasingly prominent with the growing applications of composites in industrial fields. Besides, the hybrid bonded‐bolted (HBB) joint has aroused extensive attention for its excellent mechanical performance. In this study, numerous tests and simulations were conducted to investigate the load‐bearing performance of the plain‐woven carbon fiber‐reinforced plastic (CFRP) laminates HBB joints under quasi‐static uniaxial tensile conditions. The influence of HBB morphological parameters was systematically analyzed. The 3D Hashin failure criterion was successfully implemented in the finite element model for the failure analysis of a numerical equivalent cross‐ply laminate structure.Highlights
FEA‐based mechanical property analysis tool for CFRP bonded‐bolted joint.
Quantitative influences of HBB morphological parameters are discussed.
Failure modes of HBB with different characteristics are revealed.
