Spreading the seeds of million-murdering death**This title and some subheadings are taken from lines in Ronald Ross' poem In Exile, Reply – What Ails the Solitude, written on 21 August 1897, the day after he made his Nobel-Prize-winning discovery of parasite stages in the mosquito. ‘This day relenting God hath placed within my hand a wondrous thing; and God be praised.
