Exploring Student Motivation in a Hybrid Learning Environment

Abstract

The evolution of education, marked by successive iterations, has resulted in Education 5.0, which represents a major step forward in the innovative integration of technologies. This approach involves the creation of a digital university along the lines of 5.0 universities, with Blended Learning as the flagship teaching method. This study aims to implement a hybrid system and examine the motivation of students at the Ben M'sick Faculty of Science. Student motivation was tested using the Education Motivation Scale. The results show that out of a total of total of 113 students participated in the study, 69 of the participants were motivated to participate in hybrid activities. Extrinsic motivation by regulation was identified as the motivational subscale with the highest mean score (5.03 ±1.5). Multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that the nature of the course (aOR, 2.58 (1.12- 5.91), p= 0.026) was a factor affecting student motivation in a hybrid environment.
