Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of using multi-representation based video media on high school students’ learning outcomes. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The research sample was 24 students of class X IPA-1 for the control group and 22 students of class X IPA-2 for the experimental group. In the experimental group, the multi-representation based video media were used during instruction, meanwhile in the control group the instruction did not involve any multi-representation based video media. The data were collected from students’ responses on a test for student learning outcomes and the data were analysed using the t-test. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that student-learning outcomes have increased with the average post-test score of the experimental class 82.73 and the average value obtained in the control class post-test activity is 75.91. Based on the results of hypothesis testing at the significant level of α = 0.05 and df = 44, the t-table = 1.68 and the t-count = 3.32. Thus, it can be said that there is an influence from the use of multi-representation based video media on student learning outcomes on the concept of Works and Energy.
