Abstract
Enzymatic distribution patterns of human esterases were studied by the use of a number of substrates and of activator and inhibitor substances. On the basis of their sensitivity to effector substances, human esterases can be classified in three large groups: hepatic, pancreatic and general type. In occasional cases, differential properties of esterases may be of some diagnostic value.
