Abstract
The world of video gaming is increasingly exerting a formative influence on the world. This paper provides a brief overview of the scale and scope of gaming today. Next, it examines how gaming is an expression of leisure, cultural engagement, and Sabbath. The paper will go on to take an extended look at the theological and formational implications of gaming including the will, personal agency, and implications of the imago Dei in the domain of avatars.
