Abstract
Implications of law enforcement coproduction are investigated in this article. It is asserted that coproduction of law enforcement services will not be neutral in terms of neighborhood impact. A zero-sum game scenario is postulated as resulting from displacement of crime wherein gains in the quality of law enforcement services for some neighborhoods coincide with losses for other neighborhoods. Heuristic designs that explicate the differential neighborhood implications of law enforcement coproduction, as well as the implications of law enforcement coproduction on perceptions of police performance, are formulated.
