Abstract
“Two Journeys” is a performance narrative in which I juxtapose memories of early childhood and adolescent experiences in a boarding school in northern India with adult experiences in America and graduate school. In the story, I describe the geographical displacements of a 10-year-old and later an adult to a life without comfort zones—exile at home and abroad. I move back and forth reflectively between the cultures of youth, womanhood, India, and America and explore how my lived liminal moments have become cultural movements, transitions, and turning points that are inherently linked to my self and my narrativity.
