Abstract
Tests were performed to evaluate the effects of cure on the mechanical properties of composite laminates. The longitudinal and transverse tensile and compressive moduli and strengths and the longitudinal shear moduli and strengths of Fiberite T300/976 laminates were measured, with laminates cured to different degrees of cure ranging from 0.6 to 0.96. The laminate moduli and strengths were also calculated from the known values of the resin and fiber properties using the rule of mixture, Tsai-Hahn, Chamis, and Halpin-Tsai formu las. Comparisons were made between the measured and calculated laminate properties and the applicabilities of these formulas were assessed.
