Abstract
The Sutter-Eyberg Student Behavior Inventory (SESBI), a brief teacher-rating scale of externalizing, or conduct problem behavior at school, was completed by 38 teachers for 726 5th- through 12th-grade students. The inventory contained the original 36 items plus 17 experimental items. Item analyses led to retention of 10 experimental items and deletion of 8 original items with weaker psychometric properties. Scores on this revised, 38-item version of the SESBI had a high coefficient alpha. Factor analyses yielded a two-factor solution representing (a) oppositional behavior and (b) attentional difficulties.
