Abstract
A critical issue in the use of tests for selection purposes is that test scores predict subsequent performance similarly for all groups of students. This study was intended to investigate the extent of age bias in the prediction of graduate performance from GRE scores. The records of 1,138 graduate students in education were evaluated. GRE scores were found to overpredict the graduate performance of younger students and underpredict the grades earned by older students.
