Abstract
There are many reasons for adopting a block schedule. Research indi cates that block scheduling may have important non-academic advan tages, including a calmer school atmosphere, better discipline, and improved student attitudes. Intensive block schedules may be particu larly helpful to at-risk students, reducing both failure and dropout rates. But how does it affect the teaching of mathematics?
