Abstract
This study surveyed 3846 Queensland Year 12 students' perceptions of sources of information about post-school options. Free response items addressed what was the most useful information received on post-school options and what further information was required. The written responses were analysed using a content analysis approach. People were the most commonly nominated resource, followed by publications and personal research. This finding was different, however, for young people not intending to undertake tertiary study. Comparisons were also made on gender, with females generally making more comment about information sources. Students requested more information on their options, advice and finances.
