Abstract
This article explores the influence of the cultural intelligence of business owners upon the international performance of their firms, noting the mediating roles of international knowledge acquisition capability and adaptive capability. Using a questionnaire survey, data from 129 small and medium firms in Thailand were collected. Results from the partial least squares regression analysis found a positive effect of cultural intelligence on export performance; this was mediated through international knowledge acquisition capability but not through adaptive capability.
