Abstract
Coordination is a key issue in the design of organizational structures and processes. In this article, the authors propose a body of concepts that support the modeling and computer simulation of organizational processes and organizational coordination. Based on these concepts, three aspect models are described that each highlight different (coordination) aspects and facilitate a multiperspective analysis of an organization's processes and their coordination: the interaction model, the process model, and the actor model. A case study is used to illustrate these concepts and aspect models. Furthermore, a way of transforming the concepts into a computer simulation is formulated. Experiences show the potential applicability of the modeling concepts. Finally, directions for further research are indicated.
