Abstract
In Australia, the use of computerized business simulations within tertiary institutions is a relatively new and rapidly growing phenomenon. The data suggest that 70% of adoptions have occurred since 1984 and that simulations are used in more than half of the business programs. Perceptions reflect the American experience, but the simulations are not seen to be representative of either the Australian environment or business practice. Participants enjoy taking part and rate courses using simulations more highly than other courses. The research reported here surveyed both user-instructors and the participants in a business strategy course. Three areas for further research are suggested.
