Abstract
We thank Roy White and Rob Simm for their very entertaining discussion of our paper. We acknowledge that what we thought were obvious problems are, perhaps, not so obvious after all. Consequently, we have gone to some trouble to present the solid evidence that is required to demonstrate that these problems are real. We do this by processing synthetic data calculated using the real well log data presented in our paper (Ziolkowski et al., 1998).
