Abstract
Over the last few years, the use of geophysics for engineering purposes has been increasing considerably. Geophysical applications within the engineering industry are quite diverse and can range from geotechnical to transportation purposes and to environmental and geohazards studies. Typical applications include detection of bedrock, landfill delineation, water table detection, karst exploration, dam/levee and seepage evaluation, foundation design, pipeline installation, landslide mitigation, earthquake and seismic design parameters, and pavement analysis, among others.
