Abstract
Purpose: To evaluate the whitening activity of thinned immature apple mango (Mangifera indica L. Irwin) extract (TME).Methods: The study conducted tyrosinase inhibition assays and cytotoxicity evaluations and analyzed melanin production inhibition in B16F10 cells. Furthermore, the study examined the effects of TME treatment on the mRNA levels of tyrosinase (TYR), tyrosinase-related protein-1 (TRP-1), and tyrosinase-related protein-2 (TRP-2).Result: Melanin production was effectively downregulated by TME treatment in B16F10 cells, showing a dose-dependent reduction in the expression of tyrosinase and TRP-1 at the mRNA level. Conclusion: The results suggest the potential utilization of thinned immature apple mango as a skin-beautifying food material with a whitening function.
