Abstract

The influence on the resistance to high-voltage breakdown of samples irradiated with double-charged copper ions Cu2+ with an energy of 300 keV and different irradiation doses was studied. It is experimentally shown that when irradiating a copper electrode with Cu2+ ions, the values of breakdown characteristics improve by 17…28% with increasing irradiation dose. A theoretical study of the effect of material defects such as pores on the emission current was carried out. It is shown that the field emission current from the metal surface near nano-objects has a vibrational resonance feature. The resonance condition is determined by the depth of the nanoscale void from the metal surface. If the resonance conditions are not met or if the size of the defects increases, the emission current decreases rapidly.
