Abstract

The [Formula: see text]-extra edge-connectivity is an important measure for the reliability of interconnection networks. Recently, Yang et al. [Appl. Math. Comput. 320 (2018) 464–473] determined the [Formula: see text]-extra edge-connectivity of balanced hypercubes [Formula: see text] and conjectured that the [Formula: see text]-extra edge-connectivity of [Formula: see text] is [Formula: see text] for [Formula: see text]. In this paper, we confirm their conjecture for [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], and disprove their conjecture for [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text].
