Abstract
Abstract
We describe our experience with comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) content conducted during an EFL class at a state-run secondary school in Argentina. We first describe the legal landscape within which CSE is embedded in Argentina. Then, we discuss gender, sexuality, and CLIL. Next, we discuss the experience which aimed at problematizing CSE content, in this case gender roles, drawing on CLIL underpinnings. In doing so, we also refer to students’ reactions and include samples of their productions. Finally, we reflect upon the effectiveness of the experience and the challenges presented in terms of teaching and learning, and consider some possible implications in relation to CSE training in both initial teacher education and in continuing professional development programmes.
