Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has gained traction in the field of dermatology, but the role of AI in the dermatology residency application process has been minimally explored. We encourage dermatology residency programmes to proactively set guidelines to applicants and letter writers on the use of AI tools. Furthermore, programmes should consider implementing natural language processing models in reviewing residency applications to promote the principles of diversifying the dermatology workforce.
