Abstract
This article describes a method of essay exchanges between a class of child development students and a class of grade school students. The students in each class prepare and exchange written questions and answers to learn about the other's age and educational level. Advantages of the method over other interactional techniques are discussed. The exercise can be adapted for life span development and other courses to increase students' knowledge and understanding of people of different ages and backgrounds.
