Abstract
This paper provides an account of our experiences of the process of designing, writing, validating and eventually running a course in counselling psychology at Wolverhampton University. It is hoped that the paper will be of interest to others embarking on a similar journey and that it will provide a forum for debate on the many tangled issues around counselling psychology training. These issues are too difficult to be resolved by individuals working alone in institutions and it seems to us that trainers will achieve much more by co-operating with each other, pooling experience and resources and supporting each other in a way that reflects our work in counselling psychology.
