Clinical psychology and barriers to effective leadership

Abstract

Clinical psychologists have become increasingly conscious of the importance of effective leadership skills. However, there are identified barriers at the individual, professional and organisational level which may be preventing clinical psychologists from adopting a leadership role. Nevertheless, with determination to engage with the leadership agenda, there are means of addressing these barriers.
