Abstract

Some of the applications and extensions of the indicator-dilution technics have been presented. The technics offer possibilities for the investigation of some of the parameters of the circulatory and respiratory systems. They also offer a means of studying some of the more rapid features of organ metabolism in vivo. Compared to the degree of sophistication achieved by the more conventional dye-dilution studies, these extensions with "diffusible" indicators are in an embryonic stage of development. It is believed that they have a future.
