Abstract
It is correct to say that investments in Research, Development and Innovation (R&DI) represent the possibility of fostering scientific research, as well as being a driving element of socioeconomic development. In today's context, where sustainability is prominent, it is inferred that cooperation between universities and companies is a viable alternative for the achievement of sustainable development. The general objective of the study is to describe the relevance of the actions aimed at R&DI carried out in a lato sensu postgraduate course in Manaus. The development of the study concerns a R&DI project that took place within the framework of a broad-based specialization course in the environment and its technologies, which in its most recent edition was able to count upon the economic subsidy of an industry operating in the Free Zone of Manaus, a process intermediated by an intervening foundation. The study is exploratory and documentary, being bibliographic and exploratory in nature. The results show that the R&DI project highlighted here has had prolific results, including the publication of scientific texts and books, the holding of events and the training of human resources under the aegis of sustainability and citizenship. The study concludes that the partnership between universities and business represents an important pathway for the consolidation of an ecosystem prone to innovation, economic growth and sustainable development, and is also favorable to the fulfillment of the UN 2030 Agenda.
