Abstract

In this study, we show for the first time that Cse4 methylation is regulated by the cell cycle and that the constitutive methylation of Cse4 interferes with the productive association of kinetochore protein complexes at the CEN chromatin, which leads to kinetochore dysfunction and chromosome instability.
