Abstract

Obesity impairs lymphatic function, but the contribution of lymphatic endothelial cells to metabolic disease phenotypes is poorly understood. It is shown that the saturated fatty acid palmitate, but not the unsaturated fatty acid palmitoleate, causes ROCK-dependent reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton that detaches it from adherens junction proteins and impairs directional migration.
