Abstract

We show that peroxisomes, but not lipid droplets, mitochondria, or preautophagosomes, hitchhike on early endosomes in Aspergillus nidulans hyphae using the linker protein PxdA. We discover a new regulator of hitchhiking, the DipA phosphatase, which is recruited to early endosomes by PxdA and is required for peroxisome, but not early endosome, motility.
