Abstract

PCR-based multiplex gastrointestinal (GI) pathogen panels have started to replace stool culture and ova and parasite exam as a rapid and accurate means of diagnosing acute gastroenteritis. However, there are limited data on the impact of panel testing on patient outcomes.
