Abstract

The biofilm matrix of the opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa is composed of exopolysaccharides (EPS), proteins, and nucleic acids. In P. aeruginosa , an increase in the small molecule c-di-GMP causes an increase in biofilm matrix production both transcriptionally and posttranslationally.
