Abstract

Baloxavir marboxil, an influenza virus polymerase acidic endonuclease inhibitor, represents a recently approved new class of influenza antivirals. Treatment-emergent resistance to baloxavir has been observed in clinical trials, and the potential spread of resistant variants could diminish baloxavir effectiveness.
