Abstract
ABSTRACT
This paper describes a specific, sensitive, semiautomated, and quantitative Hep-2 cell culture-based 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay for
Bacillus cereus
emetic toxin. Of nine
Bacillus
,
Brevibacillus
, and
Paenibacillus
species assessed for emetic toxin production, only
B. cereus
was cytotoxic.
