Abstract

ABSTRACT A novel biochemical technique, the Carba NP test, has been evaluated to detect carbapenemase production in Pseudomonas spp. This test was specific (100%), sensitive (94.4%), and rapid (<2 h). This cost-effective test, which could be implemented in any microbiology laboratory, offers a reliable technique for identification of carbapenemase-producing Pseudomonas spp.
