3. The N2(C) and N2(B) transitions occur at 300–400 and 600–1050 nm and direct comparison of intensities are difficult. In, Ref. 1 a 0.3 m McPherson monochromator with a grating blazed at 1000 nm was used in the first order for N2(B) and in the second order for N2(C). The wavelength response was calibrated in each order.
