Abstract
This book chapter discusses the morphological characteristics (shape of the body, the structure of the male and female reproductive systems and the structure of the alimentary and excretory systems) of the Family Didymozoidae that are of taxonomic importance. The life cycle of members of this family and their classification is also tackled. Data on the host and distribution of the following genera are provided: Brasicystis, Lepidodidymocystis, Pseudocoeliodidymocystis, Sicuotrema, Neogonapodasmius, Glomeritrema, Paralichthytrema. A general description of the members of the family is given. Keys to subfamilies, tribes, and genera are included.
