Abstract
The identity and role of bioactive compounds (pigments, phenolics, flavonoids, limonoids, pectic substances), chemopreventive activity and bioavailability (cancer studies and cardiovascular diseases), effect of preharvest and postharvest continuum (genotype, fruit maturity and size, production condition, postharvest treatments and storage) of orange, lemon, mandarin, grapefruit, lime and other citrus fruits are discussed.
