This book presents a review of the different systems used in animal feeding as well as on nutrient metabolism. The book is divided into eight parts: part 1 contains chapters 1 to 3 (Introduction and Digestive Tract Physiology), part 2 contains chapters 4, 5, and 6 (Protein, Amino Acids and Nitrogen Metabolism), part 3 contains chapters 7,8, and 9 (Carbohydrates), part 4 contains chapter 10 to 13 (Lipids), part 5 contains chapters 14 to 17 (Integration of Metabolism), part 6 contains chapters 18 and 19 (Structural features), part 7 contains chapters 20 and 21 (Water and Body Fluids), and part 8 contains the last three chapters 22, 23, and 24 (Reproduction and the Immune System). The book contains 325 pages including an appendix (answers to study guide questions) and an index.
