1. Beverly Lemire is Professor and Henry Marshall Tory Chair at the University of Alberta, Canada, and works in the areas of British, European, and comparative history and material culture, 1600–1850. She has published extensively on the history of women and small-scale credit, the secondhand and ready-made clothing trades, transformations in domestic culture, and fashion. Her newest book is Cotton (2011) in the Berg series “Textiles that Changed the World.”
